Cassandra Helmuth is a Deputy District Attorney with the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Helmuth joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2013 and served in various trial units before joining the human trafficking unit in 2016. She was designated as the lead DDA of the human trafficking unit in 2017 and for the next 7 years specialized in the prosecutions of pimping, pandering and human trafficking cases. In that role, she collaborated with the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force and other local law enforcement agencies in their efforts to combat human trafficking in the community.
Ms. Helmuth continues to work with local non-profit organizations in their support of victims of human trafficking. Ms. Helmuth has instructed in the field of human trafficking to both local and national audiences including law enforcement, military, attorneys, community groups and other professionals. She is currently assigned to the gang unit.
Ms. Helmuth received her B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara, and her J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law.
